Melly Rose rises with powerful new single Still Ah Rise
August 23, 2025Legendary Antiguan band Burning Flames celebrated their 40th anniversary during Antigua Carnival 2025 with concerts, tributes, and a surprise performance by soca star Machel Montano.
Formed in 1985 by three brothers and a nephew, they debuted with Go Go, Do Anything, and Stiley Tight, winning that year’s Road March. Initially a rock and roll group, they embraced calypso and soca, creating a genre-blending sound that reshaped Caribbean music.
Their 1986 debut album, Burning Flames, cemented their legacy, and their high-energy performances revolutionised the Antigua Carnival. Honouring their cultural impact, the government renamed Potter’s Main Road as The Burning Flames Highway.
Beloved across generations, they remain a symbol of Antiguan pride and Caribbean musical excellence.
